Drama in the Community

prob my last post!!

Last week.

It is only a week away and we have made lots of times to meet and put final touches to the plan. I think that every thing is going really well. And the meeting we had with George went really well he is really happy with every thing that we have done and is really looking forward to the event now. As are we!!! The parade I think is going to go really well I think we need to focus on timing and we also need to arrange ways of clearing up and keeping the common as clean as possible all weekend.

I think that it is all looking good and the dress rehearsal on the Friday before will be a really good way of seeing what we have to do to get the timing right.

This is it now. I have really enjoyed working on this project and I think that it will be a success as I feel that everyone has put a lot of effort in. I have learnt a lot from doing this community project and I have enjoyed working with every one.

Lets hope it doesn’t rain and I am sure the event will be amazing!

I love the story and i love that we played with them to see what they were like to move I think this helped as they are not as easy as I thought they would be but they are looking amazing!! Well done to the creative team!!!! I have taken picture to take to our ham meeting on monday if there is any thing else important we need to talk about just let me know and we can chat with george and gary. All is looking good!!!

we have a rough plan for the weekend which is good but we need to sort a set one monday i think.

workshops in schools

hay i hope every ones workshops are going well. we had a realy good one last week in richmond and the kids were so sweet. we wanted them to get used to us and feel happy around us. we played some games and did some exersises with them and we plan for the next two weeks to get them thinking about the parade and make some masks with them. they are all realy excited. i hope everyone else's workshops are going well.

Ham Meeting in the pub!!!

the meeting today went realy well we had lots to catch up on as we hadent meet for a few weeks. i realy feel as if they are excited about the progect now and we can all see hoe it is coming together. We wanted to have a catch up with them so that we could tell them the progress that we have made over the last few weeks. they seam realy happy with the work that we are doing.

We are going to have a meeting on the 29th as our next big meeting to fill them in on our procress and any workshops that we have had. They would also like us to present them with a plan of how the day will run and where everyone will be. they understand that this might not be compleate as we still may not know everyones plans but in as much detail that we can.

So if we can all start to get as much information as possiable we can make the plan realy good for them.

its all going well but not long till it is hear. keep up the goods work guys!!!xx

Monday's meeting and meetinng with Mark!

guys this mondays meeting the 12th april went i feel realy well this was a much better meeting from the rest and i feel as if we can all see the event coming together now!! only a few weeks now so i know we have lots that are in and we are starting meetings with groups and workshops but i think that we still have a long way to go before we are there!! but we have made a good start!

the story was so so good well done Jenny and Ben was so funny and the children and adults will love it. i like the idea that everything revolves around the same thing and realy brings the events together! i am looking forward to dressing up as animals and having fun with the community!!! realy good meeting guys i feel we covered alot! we are on track keep up the good work.

Meeting with Mark!

we all had our little meeting and i feel that sitting down and talking to mark we got to have a little catch up and know where we are at the moment and what we are to focus on in the nest few weeks.

also talking to mark about this (the blog) helped me as i am not alot clearer on what is required from us.

All is good on our side of things and we will report back on the meeting with Ham!!

Fundraising

guys i think that the night was pritty good for a drama night and i am really glad with how it went jenny and jade you guys did really well and everyone that helped well done it looked realy good too, poor effort on the costumes though well apart from myself jess and jenny!!!!!! lol well we raised some money that was the main thig and then jenny and jade have been filling in forms like mad men and hopefully we can get some more funnding aswell!!!

then we can spend it the fun part!!

we have had some realy good meetings with ham house we did our presentation that went well and realy got to lok in to the actual running of the day and i thinkt hey were happy with what we had to tell them. we realy need to concentrate on getting into the schools and getting them involved. and also getting defo numbers!!!

ham house meeting last week in the pub was good the police man came and her was realy good told us they are in and want to walk along with the parade wich is good they will be at ham common as well as at the road and walking around the event so all is looking good there.

poster realy needed to be done a few weeks ago i know we want to do pics and make it look realy like a community but also need to get it out and about!!

every thing else is going well at our end got quotes for balloons and waiting for beach balls but all looks good getting excited now we can make it good xxx

meetings!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we have had a few realy good meetings and it all looks ltke it is coming together.

mask making was fun and looks like a good way of getting the kids involved and making them fit in the the colour theame. workshops are a thing that we need to focus on and try and get into the schools as soon as we can.

i think everyone is working well and it is all looking good so far but we still have a long way to go.

we had a meeting with ham house and theya re happy with how things are going they would like us to keep intouch bout numbers as this is there main worry. the meeting was realy good and they would like us to do a presentation to them in 3 weeks with a plan off the day and where we are at. this will be on everything fundrasing and general things so maybe some one from a few other groups could come with us.

they are realy excited about the event and realy want alot of our imput down to writing the song that will be sung on the day about ham so any one creating should have a think about it. they are looking at having bags made to give away and want our imput on this aswell.
Everything is going well we just need to wait for schools to get intouch and then just get into the scholls and start the fun.!!!

well we have had a few meetings and it is all becoming together a bit more, we have all had very contrasting views on how we all think things should be and this could become a issue but i hope we can all sort this out.

we have decided on doing a parade as well as the ham house event that at first i thought was a bad idea as it is making more work for everyone and separates the event but if the timing is right and there is lots going on in ham itself.

i think when we get a chance to meet with Gary and George it wil help to see what it is that they want as well as seeing if they like our ideas.

doing the walk on friday i think helped making us see what will actualy be happening on the day and alowed us to see how it could be, and start throwing ideas around.

well it has been a while the last few weeks of uni were so busy. Ham house was fun but as the time went on the fewer people could make it and this was very difficult for the people that were there as the timing was all off and we were storytelling non stop this was not down to any one as i am sure people had good resons for not being there. Rachel took over from zoe and realy wasnt very well and came in and organised everything very well she was a star.!!!!

we were supprised as we learnt how diffrent the days were from the age of the children every performance was realy diffrent some times we had to adaped our storytelling to the audence and sometimes just ended up playing with the children.

i realy enjoyed the weekend the first two were possiable better as there was more storytellers and by the last weekend i think that we were all abit down and tired of doing the same thing all day as we didnt realy get a chance to have a break we all carried on well and i think it went well but we were all ready for it to be over.

i have enjoyed working with everyone but i think that some of us have been let down by the money being taken and realy put a downer on the last weekend for me it might not have been one of us but in general i didnt like the feeling of not being able to leave my money in my own bag while we went to do someing nice. this is the only real downer of the whole experience for me. other that this i think every one did well. x

all our work payed off weekend went well, all very sleepy elfs now but was worth it, it was strange how each time we had diffrent children the stories changed, but it all worked realy well and the children and the grown ups responded well. (i love being an elf). i think that everyone worked realy well together and i think that it will only get better as the weekends go on.

i liked that we all found a way that our stories worked well together and all worked well as a company. todays went well as there was a lot of intertaction between the storys. And everyone stayed in characture realy well, also i think that the face painting is the best thing in the world watching the kids faces when they see thay can have it done and then what they end up looking like. but i realy enjoy the face painting and want to do it all the time. i think jess shouldnt be alowed to do any more stars ever poor mark!! stick to the reinders xx

writting storys

i found a few winter storys but wasnt happy with any of them as i thought that they were a little old so i have attempted to write my own i thik taht on wednesday when we meet up it will be helpful to get some feed back.

fridays lesson was realy good mark did some warm up exerises with us such as the ABC game we were in pairs and given a background story ans had to have a conversation using the letters of the alphabet such as the first person would say : any thing from the shops? and the next person would then have to start with b so could say 'bread and butter please' and so on i realy enjoyed it as it got us thinking and working quickly.

we also did an exercise to learn how to make a room have a atmosphere with out acting out any thing or with much speeking, this was realy interesting as we did learn to stop using conversation to show a feeling or to create and atmosphere.

we then told some of our storys to each other and gave each other feed back on how to deliver them and what realy worked as the audence, we all the had a talk on how we would use the space and next week we will be in the rooms that we will be using.
this lesson went realy well.

we started to shoe some of the storys and performances and some were realy good and could realy work for the winter christmas theme that we have decided on.

I realy enjoyed Bens story and think that that is perfect, with a bit more work it will be realy good!!

I felt that meeting went realy well today and that it feels as if we are getting some where and that the communication between everyone is getting better as well.

we touched apon having other things to do for the children such as drawing and just a place for them to sit and read or some where we can just sit and read to them, i think this will work well along side the more lively storys as it will be a place that the children that dont want to realy be involved can still be entertained.

also loved the idea of having people in characture as this will make it alot more visual and exciting.

looking forward to being in the house this week and hearing everyones storys. x

loved jens and zoes performance last week, think it could realy work as it was short and easy to move about !! i have got the bath book from my sister so will bring it tomorrow so you can all have a look and see what i was talking about.

Everyone at ham house are realy nice and i think that we will have fun working with them. Cant wait till we start but i am still scared of the house and the basment is creepy think we need to make it brighter and famly friendly so i dont get scared down there!!

Me and Jess both work as nannys and we could put something advertising the family fun at ham house up in there school as it is nice and close, get lots of people involved.

Today we went into Ham House for our tour. It was so not what i was expecting the gardens we so pritty and open and magical but the in side of the house was kind of creapy! It was kind of scary but going in to the rooms that we will be using was good they are kind of blank spaces that we can work with but again i find it hard to not see it as a scary old house.

Saying this i was supprised at how much i reacted to the fact that it reminded me of my school, a lot of memorys and feelings came back from then. So even thought the house is scary i almost felt a little bit at home again.

I think that we are all going to have a lot of fun there, Mark gave us homework to put a peice together for next week and all i could think of was the old book that my dad used to read to me and my sister that i cant remberthe name of but my sister will , it is about a king having a bath and people interupting his bath and being in the bathroom room made me think of it again so i think that i will try and find it as i think that it could work.

Ham House is stunning!! And the christmas events sound like they will be fun. I am looking forward to starting throwing ideas about.
